What's New for the 2019 Honda Pilot?
For the 2019 model year, Honda has refined their ever-popular full-sized Pilot SUV to include a host of new features and enhancements. Starting with the exterior, updates include a redesigned grille, accompanied by LED headlights that have an Acura-inspired design. New 20-inch wheels are also part of the enhanced curb-appeal package. On the inside, the oft-criticized infotainment system of the last Pilot generation has been streamlined for ease of use. The rear entertainment system hasn't been forgotten, either; the 2019 model brings streaming video capability and a larger screen. The dash has new, easier-to-read instrumentation, and parents will love the new CabinTalk PA system, which allows them to address the cabin without having to raise their voices. Safety is another improvement, as Honda Sensing technology is now standard with all trims.

What Are The New Features and Highlights
Honda offers five different trim levels on the 2019 Pilot: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. Standard features on the LX model include a powerful V6 engine, 8-passenger seating, and a multi-angle rear view camera. The EX includes all of that, plus intelligent traction management, Apple CarPlay integration, Android Auto integration, and one-touch second-row seats. The EX-L brings a one-touch power moon roof, leather-trimmed seats, navigation and advanced RES, and second-row passenger sunshades. The Touring trim comes with all features mentioned so far but really steps up the luxury with a hands-free power tailgate, heated front and rear seats, a 590-watt premium audio system, and automatic LED headlights. The Elite trim is where things top out, with a panoramic roof, perforated heated second-row captain's chairs, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a wireless phone charger. All-wheel-drive is standard on the Elite model and is optional on all other trim levels.
Does the 2019 Honda Pilot Have an Impressive Drive Train?
The Pilot comes standard with a capable 280-HP, 3.5-liter V6 Earth Dreams engine. It's a six-speed automatic, delivering 262 lb.-ft. of torque at 4700 rpm. Touring and Elite models come with an upgraded nine-speed. Towing capacity is 6,500 lbs. The all-wheel-drive model has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and features Intelligent Variable Torque Management technology, which dynamically adjusts the power distributed among the four wheels.
Modern Safety Technology
Driver assurance has always been paramount for the Pilot, and the 2019 model is no different. The Honda Sensing suite of safety technology is now standard on all models. This includes a collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and lane keeping assist system. Many of these features were only available at an additional cost on previous models. On EX models and above, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic monitoring are included. The IIHS has designated the 2019 Pilot a top safety pick.
