What's' New For the 2019 Honda Passport?

The new 2019 Honda Passport takes plenty of cues from the Honda Pilot, being manufactured on the same assembly line. The model drives similarly to the Pilot, but the 20 inch alloy wheels which come standard with the Passport provide a firmer ride. However, the new Passport sports a different look than the Honda Pilot, the different front bumper being the first thing that sticks out as far as appearance goes. The crossover SUV is packed with plenty of safety tech, it features a spacious interior, and is powered by a strong V-6 engine.

Honda Passport has Four Trims & Countless Features for 2019

The 2019 Honda Passport comes off the assembly line available in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite, with each trim offering a long list of features. The Sport trim comes with 20 inch alloy wheels, 3-zone automatic climate control, a 215-Watt audio system, and smart start and entry. Moving up, the EX-L adds to the mix a power tilt and slide moonroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8 inch display audio touchscreen, among other items.

The Touring level adds front and rear parking sensors, power-folding side mirrors, and ambient interior lighting. Last but not least, at the top of the range is the Elite trim level, which comes with heated and ventilated front seats, gloss black exterior accent, a 590-Watt Premium Audio System, and a heated steering wheel, among other unique features.

The 2019 Honda Passport features a low dashboard with a few buttons laid out around the audio and climate control systems. The base Sport trim level is the only one featuring cloth seats and a 5.0 inch display audio system, with the rest of the models getting leather upholstery and the 8.0 inch infotainment screen.

As far as the exterior goes, the vehicle stretches approximately 190 inch long, and has a stylish look, featuring strong character lines which run between the wheel wells. The rear sports a dark chrome trim piece which runs between the taillights, as well as a pair of exhaust pipes.

How Well does the 2019 Honda Passport Perform?

Due to the V-6 engine being a refined and luxurious operator, it gives the Passport good acceleration while at the same time being virtually silent. The 20 inch alloy wheels help with the performance of the vehicle, providing a comfortable ride which is also confidence-inspiring when driven on more winding roads.

The Honda Passport also includes the standard 4-mode drive system on the all-wheel-drive versions, featuring Normal, Mud, Sand, and Snow settings, designed to tailor the throttle, traction control system, and transmission for the specific type of terrain. Overall, besides coming with a stylish look, the Passport has the power to back his appearance, providing a smooth and composed ride. According to Honda estimates, as far as fuel economy goes, the front-wheel drive version will be rated at 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 combined, while the all-wheel drive model will get rating of 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.
