All new for 2016, the Honda Pilot is getting an exciting makeover that sees its older, boxy frame give way to a sleeker model that invokes the popular crossover market. The SUV's interior is also getting an update that includes more luxury features, as well as higher-end tech amenities. For all the details on this latest version of the 2016 Honda Pilot in Phoenix, keep reading our review below!
The 2016 Pilot is offered in five trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and the brand-new Elite. Looking first at the base LX model, this trim comes with 18-inch wheels, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 7-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity and a rearview camera. The EX trim adds automatic headlights, an 8-inch touchscreen interface, HondaLink smartphone integration, keyless ignition and entry, heated mirrors, LED running lights, an upgraded sound system and three-zone automatic climate control.
The next level EX-L model of the Pilot gets a power tailgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, leather upholstery and one-touch sliding second-row seats. The high-end Touring and Elite trims are favorite options of 2016 Honda Pilot reviews. The Touring trim gets a navigation system, roof rails, front and rear parking sensors, a 10-speaker sound system and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The all-new Elite trim tops things off with 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, HD radio, automatic high-beam headlights, a panoramic sunroof and heated second-row captain's chairs.
Under the hood, the Pilot is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that rates at an impressive 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. Depending on the trim you choose, the Pilot can be had with either a six-speed automatic or a nine-speed automatic transmission. 2016 Honda Pilot reviews absolutely love the nine-speed on the higher trims and highly recommend choosing it if you want the most fuel efficiency.
