What Should I Do If There is a Recall for my Vehicle?

Repairs and Recalls

It's important that you first understand that a recall is for safety reasons. It does not mean that your vehicle is defective or that there is a reason to panic. Although a recall indicates there has been an identified safety issue for your vehicle, there are many recalls issued that are preventive. Be sure to read the recall letter completely and any attached information that is received. It's important to check your name and the vehicle information to make sure that information is accurate.

The most important role that you have, after the notification, is to handle the recall timely. Within the letter, you will be advised to reach out to the nearest Honda dealer to have the recall completed and you should do that immediately. Do not delay making your appointment with our service center. The staff at Showcase Honda will already be aware of your recall and prepared to answer any of your questions when you arrive to have the recall completed. Additionally, because our technicians are factory-trained, and they handle the recalls exclusively for Honda, you will have access to any information they can provide and address any mechanical concerns about the safety of your vehicle.

Although you may hear of safety recall warnings on the nightly news that generally receive heightened exposure, most recalls are minor. However, occasionally a recall will require you to refrain from driving your vehicle. If there are explicit instructions in the recall letter, be sure to adhere to those instructions. Otherwise, your driving habits should continue as normal. If there are any concerns or questions regarding a critical component, contact our service center staff, and we will be more than happy to discuss the specific details with you.

Do I Have to Pay for Recall Repairs?

Diagnostics and Repairs

In most cases, there will not be any costs related to your recall repairs. The manufacturer has already allocated for covering the costs, and Showcase Honda will facilitate the repairs, updates or replacing any parts. However, in the rare instance that any repairs are necessary outside of the recall, there may be additional costs involved. More than likely, you have concerns and we understand. However, your safety is extremely important to Showcase Honda, and we will do everything we can to accommodate you with feedback and recommendations to ensure that your recall is handled smoothly.
