The redesigned 2018 Honda Odyssey takes style, comfort and tech-savviness to new heights, making the family hauler a little edgier and a lot more forward-facing. Adding a suite of advanced technology features, including a video-streaming rear entertainment system, you’ll definitely want to embark on an odyssey in the 2018 Odyssey.
Sleeker Than Ever Before
"This new Odyssey raises the stakes for family-friendly packaging, performance and technology in the minivan segment," said John Mendel, Executive Vice President of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "In all aspects of its design, the new Odyssey is made to keep every member of the family happy, no matter the seating position, no matter the destination."
On the outside, the minivan’s clever architecture hides the sliding door tracks while adding emphasized body lines for a more seamless, aerodynamic appearance. Additionally, the Odyssey dons Honda’s signature flying wing front grille, as well as a concealed Active Shutter Grille, LED taillights and available LED headlights.
On the inside, the Odyssey gets several minor new touches on the dashboard, including a new soft-touch instrument panel, a 7-inch color TFT driver information display and an available 8-inch touchscreen interface. Other new cabin amenities available on select models include:
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Electric Parking Brake with Brake Hold
- Heated side mirrors
- Heated steering wheel
- Heated and ventilated front seats
- Tri-zone automatic climate control
- HondaVac in-vehicle vacuum cleaner
- Magic Slide adjustable second-row seating

Advanced Technology for the Whole Family to Enjoy

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration are now available, along with a 10.2-inch rear entertainment system that can stream video through in-cabin WiFi or smartphone data. A new app called CabinControl allows users to control select functions via smartphone, including audio and temperature controls. Other features like the CabinTalk driver intercom and CabinWatch in-cabin camera system allow parents to easily communicate with and keep tabs on the backseat passengers.

Mechanical Updates Improve Performance
The Odyssey swaps its old powertrain for a brand-new 3.5-liter V6 that increases output to a healthy 280 horsepower. Additionally, the minivan gains a standard 9-speed automatic and an available class-exclusive 10-speed automatic, both of which are on track to provide the Odyssey with class-leading fuel economy.
Maintaining its reputation for excellent drivability and handling, the 2018 Odyssey also utilizes innovative features like Advanced Compatibility Engineering, Intelligent Traction Management, Agile Handling Assist, Dual-Pinion Electric Power Steering an improved braking system.
